Our JLPT Prep Courses are offered twice a year, once in spring before the July test, and again in the fall before the December test.
Each term of the Prep Course is designed to cover half the test material for that level, except N5, the beginner level, which takes only one term. In other words, the entire contents of each level is covered by the two terms. You can enroll for the JLPT Prep Course beginning in spring or fall.

Please note:
Q: Do I need to buy a textbook?
A: Your instructor will hand out course materials each week.
Q: Will there be homework?
A: Yes, to help you be (and feel!) really prepared for the JLPT.
Q: Will there be catch-up sessions in case of absence?
A: Classes will proceed as long as students are attending. Unfortunately, we cannot offer any extra sessions.
Q: Do you teach vocabulary and kanji in a class?
A: There will be homework for you to study vocabulary and kanji between classes. A weekly test will help address questions and identify areas to focus more study attention. Class time will be used more to help improve your test results and less for practicing things you can study on your own.
Q: Should I register for Part 1 or Part 2?
A: For N1 to N4, classes are split into 10 weeks of Grammar and 5 weeks of Reading and Listening practice. N5 classes are offered as a 10-week curriculum only. Here are two scenarios to help you decide what to do:

Course Description | Our experienced teachers will share specific strategies to optimize performance and help students be aware of common mistakes test takers make. By enrolling in our online JLPT Prep Course, students can expect to be better prepared and gain more confidence when facing the actual JLPT exam. We also provide valuable instructions on test tips. These tips aim to familiarize students with the test format, including the test structure, question types, number of questions, and time constraints. The course comprehensively covers the test content: teaching grammar and going over kanji and vocabulary items each class, and working on listening and reading comprehension. By the end of one course term, students will have covered approximately half the material for one test-level (the spring term the first half of the textbook, the fall term the second half). If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Yuki Takano (ytakano@vjls-jh.com). |
