VJLS-JH History Club Curriculum Focus Group – Request for Your Participation!
Background
The Vancouver Japanese Language School’s History Club is in the process of developing a four-lesson social studies unit for senior high school teachers to use in-classroom. The teaching guide, flexible lesson plans, and materials will be distributed as a supplement to the existing resources created by the University of Victoria: Landscapes of Injustice, with the intent to encourage better understanding of the history of the Japanese-Canadian experience, particularly in pre-war Vancouver based on the Powell Gai and VJLS-JH’s stories.
On Saturday, November 30th, 3:15-4:15 pm (estimated), we would like to invite grade 7-12 students to participate in a focus group to test and provide feedback and input on one of the sample lessons in the curriculum.
