Dear Parents, Guardians, Students, Members and Friends,
We are indeed in unprecedented times with the pandemic of the Coronavirus. Our thoughts go out to all of those who have been affected.
Having our classrooms and daycare open to our community is both a tradition and an honour that we are proud to uphold. However, in these times, your health and safety is our top priority and this has led to our decision to suspend our classes/programs indefinitely.
Our organization is a resilient one and we would like to recognize the efforts being made by our staff to support us through this crisis.
In Children’s World, for many weeks, our childcare staff have ensured that parents and first responders were able to have their children cared for knowing that they would be safe and remain healthy while they continued to support others. Although we will be suspending this program temporarily from April 1st, we can assure our parents that their child’s spot will be held at no cost and will be available once we reopen.
In the Language Education Division, we wish to recognize the efforts of our teachers who are working to develop online courses so that our students can continue to learn Japanese and complete their school year. They too have been impacted by these times and we are committed to ensuring they can safely work and do what they love – teach! The date and format of these lessons will be shared in the weeks ahead.
Finally, we wish to recognize your ongoing support and trust in the work that you allow us to do. You have always been our strongest supporters, our most vocal advocates and our most generous donors particularly during difficult times. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to educate and empower generations of students who learn, pass-on and share our values for community, education and culture.
We at VJLS-JH wish to assure you that we are here to support you through these challenging times. We are confident that, together, we will emerge even more resilient and more closely connected to one another as a bonded community.
Our office remains open online and by telephone, with our staff working remotely, and we encourage you to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns or if we can be of service to or support you. Please stay safe and healthy.
